DID YOU KNOW?
One of the first businesses in the
Franklin area was The Burwood
Creamery. It was located at 68th St
(Colby Road) and Ryan Road. The
creamery processed milk delivered by
the farmers on horse-drawn wagons.
The tradition of dairy businesses
carries on strong throughout our state.
In fact, Wisconsin is the only state to
offer a Master Cheesemaker program.
It takes three years to complete, and
you need 10 years of cheese making
experience before you can even apply
as a candidate.
