PSL an All-America City Award
Finalist!
The National Civic League has named the City of Port St. Lucie as a finalist for the 2025 All-America City Award. Port St. Lucie is one of 20 nationwide finalists that“ have distinguished themselves through their commitment to strengthening environmental sustainability, using inclusive community engagement to create lasting, impactful solutions,” according to the National Civic League. The winning cities will be announced June 29.
Celebrate the City’ s 64th Birthday!
The City of Port St. Lucie marks 64 years since it was incorporated on April 27, 1961. The PSL History Museum and Education Center will be celebrating with an open house on Sunday, April 27 from 11 a. m. to 4 p. m.
Roads & Projects
Construction for Floresta Drive Phase 3 is underway. Improvements include new roundabouts, dedicated bicycle lanes, sidewalks, intersection improvements at Prima Vista Boulevard and Floresta Drive, stormwater treatment pond site, integration with Crosstown Parkway intersection, installation of baffle boxes and improvements to the D-11 Canal.
Artist Peter Busby’ s dolphin design was selected for the public art that will be located in the oval roundabout constructed near Floresta Elementary School. The new artwork is expected to be installed in the summer.
Public Works is hosting three public meetings in April to provide information on upcoming projects.
• April 7, 5-6 p. m.: Atlantus Drive traffic calming meeting at the Community Center.
• April 23, 5-7 p. m.: Hog Pen Slough project in the Council Chambers.
• April 29, 5-7 p. m.: Bayshore Boulevard improvements study public meeting in the Council Chambers.
City Ambassador Program Launches
The new City Ambassador Program empowers graduates of Port St. Lucie’ s popular City University to help share important information, engage with the community and support City initiatives. City University graduates interested in becoming a City Ambassador are encouraged to attend an information session Wednesday, April 16 at 5:30 in the City Council Chambers.
Book Vending Machine at Community Center
Starting in March the City will provide space for the St. Lucie County Library System’ s new book vending machine at the Port St. Lucie Community Center on Airoso Blvd., which will provide book-borrowing options while the Ravenswood Library is demolished and rebuilt.
