undoubtedly this kit . At a time where CORSAIR is obviously leading the pack in peripherals , PSUs and other products , it is odd to see the company put so much into a limited quantity product which could only be appreciated by the competitive overclocker or enthusiast with deep pockets . One of the few times in the PC component industry where a limited-edition product isn ’ t a shameless cash grab , making fallacious claims about “ crushing ” your opposition in an unrelated MMO that is perceived to be the next best thing for “ gamers ”.
With such memory , it would be a shame to just install it , enable XMP and then measure the results . In as much as evaluating an overclocking motherboard like the MAXIMUS IX APEX without LN2 testing is meaningless . While it is true that the memory was not pushed to it ’ s very limits in this editorial , it was pushed far beyond specification and over 1GHz memory overclock achieved with it as well .
Whatever you see here should be a fair representation of what the memory can do without any exotic cooling for the CPU driving the memory or the DIMMs . The two DIMM results represent the two worst sticks of the kit and not the two best , so do consider this as perhaps a worst-case scenario with similar hardware . Your mileage will vary and quite possibly be better provided you ’ re willing to spend even ten minutes tuning your memory , which is something so few bother to do sadly .
What should be noted as well is that memory scaling results are largely dependent
