no sense in that as $999 is too much money to spend on effectively 4GiB. Thus, this is the reason there aren’t any 3,400MHz results. They aren’t important either, as this kit will operate at 3,500MHz 16-16-16-36-1T at the reference voltage. Given that one is able to operate higher frequencies at tighter timings than what CORSAIR stipulates. It should be a clear indication of just how well this memory can scale. It does take some doing and plenty of tuning, but for the price, it’s advisable that you extract as much performance from the RAM as possible. Especially right now with some 64GiB 2800MHz kits retailing for less than this set. I would urge you to not only see how much tighter you can set the timings, (reliably!) but investigate the highest frequency your system is able to tolerate without sacrificing stability. To do anything less on such a set would be an utter waste of some of the best ICs on the market. In closing, there isn’t much more to be said about the memory. It is everything that it appears to be and more. For the price, one has every right to expect great performance and overclocking and that’s exactly what CORSAIR has delivered. There’s no question about it. In the lifespan of DDR4, this price for this frequency will eventually seem absurd to say the least. However it is still early days for DDR4 and this is the fastest SKU we’ve seen to date. Yes, there are other competitors with a 3,400MHz kits that retail for a third of the price, but those kits behave differently as illustrated in an upcoming review. CORSAIR set the bar with the DOMINATOR PLATINUM. Given that the DDR4 world record stood via a combination of this memory and the X99 SOC-Champion, it’s hard to doubt the overclocking pedigree and as such, one has little to no choice but to give the OC-Hero award and of course the Editor’s choice award. If there’s a faster set of memory out there which has to its credit any verifiable World Record, I’ve yet to come upon it. As this editorial was being written, a competitor happened to release a 3,666MHz set, which makes that the fastest memory money can buy. However until we see such sets in retail and with some form of reliable availability, this kit alone remains the only game in town. The price is ridiculous but hey, you do get what you   [ TheOverclocker ] Summary The DDR4 high speed c
