Other than overclocking what are
your other interests and what
occupies your days?
My kids, have two small daughters
that take up quite a bit of my time. I
used to be very involved with school
governance and community projects
before I got ill. But now that I have
made a full recovery I have cut down
my commitments and focus more
on my family and things that are
important. I love football and go to
every home match, as well as enjoying
gym and my beloved cycling. So not
really much time for other things…
where you have to perform on the day
is the way forward. I have a model that
I am going to be piloting here in the UK
which will be similar to the football
league system. Ten or so individuals
or franchise teams taking part in a
head to head league. Each week teams
compete against another team and the
winner of that game gets the points.
Very much like a football league. Send
a capture device and a cam to each
participating team and stream the
games (head to head) live. But let us
see how that goes it might turn out to
be quite rubbish.
With so many changes happening over
at the OC-eSports site and at HWBOT,
Is there perhaps, anything you’d like
to see changed in the overclocking
community or in competitions?
This is only a few weeks before we
get each GPU, but taking a wild guess.
Which one do you think it will be for
overclockers and performance this
time around, AMD’s HBM GPU or
NVIDIA’s 980 Ti?
Yes but I am not sure there is
enough space in this edition. I think
that competition or the way that
competition is thought about needs
an overhaul. I do not think that the
current pro-league is in any way
interesting to spectators and certainly
is not very interesting to me as a
competitor. Ian and I have stopped
participating lately as we do not see
any point to it.
Head to head, or proper competition
I think that the VGA side of things is
pretty exciting right now. New cards
and different kinds of ways we use
graphic cards in the real world make
it a good time for the industry. But
for benching I could not care less.
The cards will need to be chopped
up and basically reworked for the
‘world records’ and because of that it
means nothing to me. Show me what
an unworked card can do and I am
interested but these zombie results

that marketing department want
so that they can sell product mean
nothing to me.
AMD I really hope they get it together,
I have been a huge fan but even my
enthusiasm is dwindling now. But let
us hope this time round they have a
winner.
When last did you play any game and
what was it and on what platform?
I hardly game. I played some
Boarderland 2 and BLTPS on PC but
that is about all.
Anything else you’d like to say to
everyone reading this?
Yeah. Benching should be fun. You
should
