The overclocking scene is huge in Brazil, much bigger than we could have ever imagined. How many events do you have monthly and what are some of the bigger ones that you attend? We try to have about five or six events a year (from our Team – I2I3 Overclocking Team). This does not however include overclocking sessions with some of the guys, which take place around Brazil. The scene became big with the First Brazilian Overclocking Championship at Campus Party which started a new “Overclocking Competition Era” in Brazil. It was a Hit and since then we’ve seen overclocking presentations and events all over Brazil. We have other talented teams in Brazil doing a great work such as OverBr Team, Team Fuzion and Criminal Cafe. In terms of numbers, is overclocking growing in Brazil or do you see people losing interest very quickly soon after they start overclocking as they come across the challenges like the cost of hardware and LN2? Actually we have a huge number of overclockers (enthusiasts), but fewer extreme overclockers. This happens because hardware, LN2 and such are very expensive in Brazil. But if you compare it to three or four years ago, we have many more overclockers now. People using dry ice and others are using normal ice with their water cooling to improve their systems. I know it will grow, since each new overclocker is learning that it’s “Formula 1” for computers essentially. An enjoyable hobby which will help improve your machine while being fun. However it’s only the beginning and I am sure in a few years Brazil will be one of the most important cverclocking countries. What are some upcoming events in Brazil or internationally that you are looking forward to attending? I have been to MOA in Beijing, Taiwan and Vegas, and I believe it’s the best overclocking event in the world. I hope I can get a place to participate this year as well. How do you feel about the current HWBOT Rev4 points system, do you think it’s the best so far or do you prefer some of the older revisions? I know is impossible to be 100% fair. The HWBOT Team is always working hard to be better and they are doing a great job for the overclocking community. I think there are good changes in Rev.4, but I believe some things should be changed in the spirit of fairness (disallowing more than one score per 3D benchmark, so people who have great budgets Issue 19 | 2012 The OverClocker 7
