“There are of course other areas we needed to consider, like how these boards behaved in subzero conditions and if one could achieve higher clocks than the other. We put the boards up against each other in a subzero test, both were able to push our CPU past 6 GHz and both didn’t have a problem with very low temperatures.” Benchmarks We ran a small array of benchmarks that demonstrated performance of all aspects of the system and allow easy comparisons in future reviews. We performed these on the industry standard 3600 MHz on an un-optimized fresh install of Windows 7. After all the testing and at the end of the day the UD9 and R3E are both show pieces for the respective companies and only a handful of users would actually consider these for their gaming builds or even benchmarking. We are simply looking at it from an extreme overclocking point of view at which board will offer us the best functionality and options for achieving the highest and most efficient overclocks. Simply put, the UD9 is the board to beat. It has the right layout, the ability to run 4 graphics cards at maximum speed and it’s faster in SuperPI. Under extreme cooling we find the UD9 feels a lot more stable and responsive, it has the most predictable behaviour, doing exactly what you need it too and is just a dream to use. When we look at maximizing out investment with the R3E, we find that it can be upgraded with the ROG Xpander and p ??YHH?[YH?[??[?[]H]H\??^[??]?H?X?H[?H??]??\?X? ?NH?X?H?HQK??YH[??Y? ?\?H????\??\?H\???] [???H??[Y?X?H[?\?\?Y\?Y\????Y\??\?Y?[H?X???\??\???Z]\?[H?\?Y?H[???X][??B?]?H??YY?XX???\? ?????[[?H?^H]\?H??\???Z]?Y[??X??\????][??[?Y??H??[X?Y]?B?Y?\??????[?H?\???H]?H??\??\Y?Z[??XX??\??[?H?X??\??\? ???\?HX?H?\??\??H\? ???[????Y??&]]?HH??[H?]?\?H?[\\?]\?\?H?HY??\?[??B??H??[?[??\??[??YX?[???\?X?]?H??\????H ?? ??[\??H?\??\\?H ?H[YK?B???[?????]\????X?\??B?QK?\?X\?H??H?\?]?[?????Y?\??Y\?\?\??HH?X[?\??YH?Y?[???[??Y??X??H\??H?[X?\??\?\???[?????[??]Y[[?H????[??Y?Z[??]?\?H?\?H]?[^Z[???Y[?]?HQH^?[[??]Y?\? ?M?M???????[?H??H?Z[?][???]?Y?\?
