The following article was published in AuClock no . 3 , May 2018 – the trade journal for the gold , silver and watch sector in Denmark . Written by : Nina Hald
On 1 May one of Denmark ’ s biggest full-line suppliers to the Nordic jewellery industry was able to celebrate its 20th anniversary . Founder and owner Lone Christensen explains how she has managed to establish a success within just two decades .

Simple is good . A good name contains symbolism , one or more values . The name Aktiv Guld consists of several constituent parts , just like the work of a goldsmith – each with its own important function . In its abbreviated form , Aktiv Guld represents the chemical symbol for silver , Ag .

FASCINATION OF DIAMONDS
For Lone Christensen a typical working day begins with a check of metal and currency prices before leaving her home . Once she arrives at the office in Vallensbæk , emails and orders are her first priority . Then she makes the coffee ; this ensures that her team are greeted by a delightful aroma when they arrive for work at eight o ’ clock . The day is quickly filled up with phone calls from domestic and foreign business partners , as well as visitors and a succession of administrative tasks that always clutter up the “ boss ’ s ” desk .
Lone Christensen ’ s personal background was a fascination of diamonds in the 1980s , which was reinforced by an exciting period spent at Dansk Hollandsk Ædelmetal . Later , she established Aktiv Guld in partnership with Johan Ottosen . This fascination of diamonds led to a professional goal of optimum utilisation of all products in order to achieve the most attractive result . “ Why accept second best , when the best is achievable ? Everyone wants to be acknowledged for doing their best and achieving outstanding results . Team AG is prepared to go the extra mile to realise its visions ”, says Lone Christensen from the firm ’ s domicile in Vallensbæk .
WHO ’ S WHO – Lone Christensen

For a number of years , Lone Christensen has held positions as chairperson and as a member of various boards representing wholesalers and suppliers , as well as sitting on the council for the goldsmith industry as a whole . She has also held a seat on the supervisory board of the Chamber of Commerce and played an active role in business and humanitarian boards outside the sector . Her goal at all times has been to make a difference to the cause by increasing awareness of the opportunities within and for the industry in general .
