ARMPIT DETOX OR FACIAL

Ever gotten to work or an event , only to realize you have soaked the armpits of your top or dress ? You then ended up feeling cold and clammy or super conscious of the Africa-sized sweat mark ( s ) on your clothing , or both . Sweating like an overworked horse is no fun , especially if you are not prepared with a change of outfit . While sweating a lot has its benefits , like keeping your pores unclogged , and making you less susceptible to acne , it certainly has its downsides .
Treating your armpits to the TLC they deserve may improve their look if you suffer from ingrown hairs or darkened armpits . Apart from softer skin , there is no credible proof that armpit detoxes / facials support odour control or decreased sweating . While an armpit facial may help with darkened underarms , it may cost up to $ 479USD in some countries and also involves bleaching , which may be harmful to delicate underarm skin .
Deodorants can cause build-up over time , but the idea of removing underarm toxins may be a bit of a stretch . “ There is no evidence that a mask applied to the armpits can detox your body ," says Dr . Sejal Shah , MD , a dermatologist and founder of SmarterSkin Dermatology in NYC .
A safer , long-term way to get similarly stunning results would be to use a loofah along with an exfoliating body wash , to gently slough away dead skin a few times for the week . Though darkened armpits are usually nothing to be too concerned about , if you think you may be diabetic or have an underactive thyroid gland , it is advised that you check in with your dermatologist before attempting any form of treatment .
