Focus , a lot of people focus on other people . Or how you made me feel , what you did . Why did you say that ? Why did you wear that ? Why do you have to buy another car ? Why you have to be like that ? That ' s not your business , and the only person you have to focus on is you . I ask myself , why am I doing this ? Why did I do this ?
TBWM : What ’ s the motive , right ? Dr . Swaby : Exactly . What other people think is not your business . Don ' t judge people — live a judgment-free life . You don ' t know where people have been , you don ’ t know where people are coming from , and you don ' t know what people are going through . Just receive them the way they are and facilitate them in your space , as they are .
Many of my clients come into my office saying , “ Doc , you know , I don ' t know why I feel comfortable telling you this …”, and when they say that I thank God for the moment and blessing the moment . I pray for wisdom and a listening ear . And I sit down , and I listen . They tell me about the rapes , the physical abuse , the STDs , the kidnapping , the violence , the trauma , and I sit , and I listen . And they cry , we cry together , we pray together , and they feel better . I don ’ t always have an answer , but I listen and reassure them that if no one told them on that particular day that they are loved . They are ! I tell them they are alive for a reason , and there is nothing wrong with them , and we all can only do the best that we can do .
TBWM : Do the best you can with what you have . Dr . Swaby : Yes . Just get the boobs and waistline * laughter *
TBWM : Thank you for taking us back there ; I should have asked — having such a fabulous body , have you done anything for yourself ? Dr . Swaby : Not Really . To be honest , I just take care of myself . I do not own a Gucci handbag or shoes , instead , I will spend on good skincare products and good food and good vacations with my husband , and good moments and experiences . I have not had cosmetic surgery . I have had PDO threads on my breast , and I thread my jawline because I like a sharp jawline .
TBWM : What does success look like for you ? Dr . Swaby : Peace of mind . Freedom . freedom to be , to do , to feel , to laugh , to cry . Yesterday , I went to work in my shorts suit with the back open , my husband was like , “ you are hot !”. I said , “ I know !”. That ’ s freedom ! And I tell my staff that I am the only one allowed to wear booty shorts to work . Success is the freedom to exist in the manner in which you are you .
TBWM : Ultimately , how do you see us existing as women ? What is your ultimate desire for us as women ? Dr . Swaby : To understand that it is sometimes the imperfection that makes life so perfect . Every day cannot and will not be a seamless day , but no matter what comes your way , just own the moment , and it will be the perfect moment for you .
If there is a challenge , say , okay , I have this challenge , now what is the solution . If there is a conflict , how can I not make it worse ? Let ' s see how we can get to amicability . Sometimes I get into a bit of a fight with the women and the way they want their buttocks to look . We see many women with huge hips , and a huge bottom because they want perfect circles . I have to let my clients know that is not how we were made , and it is not my brand . I am all for natural enhancement . I mean , people should say she is looking a little extra , sexy-ish , I wonder if she did anything , there should be a little doubt .
TBWM : Meaning if we do cosmetic surgery , it should not be obvious , right ? Dr . Swaby : Yes . Life is not that serious , and we do not have to try and live up to everything on the internet — or social media ; just live up to what makes us happy .
TBWM : Share a quote or a Bible verse that has impacted you . Dr . Swaby : Psalm 23 — The Lord is my shepherd . I shall not want He maketh me to lie down in green pastures — that is abundance , prosperity .
