Editor ' s Note
BeyondWomen , I am thankful for another quarter where we can continue in this incredible opportunity to share with you ! This is our 10th issue , and we are celebrating as always in true Beyond Woman style . So , take out the champagne flutes , pour yourselves a drink , and sip in !
I would love to highlight two things in this quarter ’ s publication : the issues we have with our bodies and how we daily live this beautiful thing called life . Yes , we love ourselves but , what if we could improve our physical , emotional , and mental wellbeing ? Shouldn ’ t we enhance what we could if we could ? And are we living with a fearlessness that allows us to be who we are called to be unapologetically , or do we cower our way from one day , week , month , or year to the next ? How are we doing in either area ?
While fear is normal , it should not cripple us , but instead , it should drive us to act simply because when we act , we are in effect overcoming or managing our fears . Hebrews 10:35-36 MSG reminds us “ Nothing they did bothered you , nothing set you back . So , don ’ t throw it all away now . You were sure of yourselves then . It ’ s still a sure thing ! But you need to stick it out , staying with God ’ s plan so you ’ ll be there for the promised completion ”. Think about the time when you lived without fear — what changed ?
In this issue , we feature two women who describe themselves as fearless in two separate interviews , so it ’ s not a coincidence . Dr . Sandra Swaby brings a message of physical self-acceptance by helping women feel sexy and attractive through her procedures . Having gone through a stage in her life where she struggled with selfacceptance , she has created a space not only for herself but for other women who need what she has to offer them .
Latoya Mcleary , a stylist and creative working in the fashion hub of New York and who touts a persona of fearlessness , shares with us her faith in who God says she is , which has allowed her to live and exist in her space fearlessly .
Of course , there ' s so much more in store . A woman who shares her first experience of being body-shamed , beauty services women are trying but which may also do more harm than good and so much more . We hope this issue brings value to you
Allow me to leave this word of encouragement with you . We are created in the image and likeness of our Heavenly Father . We are also created with a spirit of boldness and not one of timidity . There is just something about this verse that hits the right spot ... Because I , your God , have a firm grip on you and I ’ m not letting go . I ’ m telling you , ‘ Don ’ t panic . I ’ m right here to help you .’ Isaiah 41:13 MSG Your Father has a firm grip on you . There is nothing to FEAR . Let us move out of that fear zone into the FAITH ZONE where all things become possible .
