Theatre Hotel (Interior Major Project) | Page 7

Introduction: Design Brief For this project, the idea is to create an indoor attraction for Old Portsmouth in order to attract more tourists within Bath Square. At the same time, the concept of the ‘Theatre Hotel’ will also benefit the Creative Arts Community as this building will be offering Apprenticeships to the young professionals in the Performing Arts field who wishes to fulfil their careers by working and training at the ‘Theatre Hotel’. This building will help and train young actors/actresses in how to give an outstanding performance for the visitors before they step into the real world of Theatre. They will be trained on ‘method acting’ where they’ll play a certain character and portray the persona within each narratives. The chosen narrative for this scheme is an ongoing murder mystery of the death of Amy Baker. In this narrative, the hotel will have employers that are inspiring and independent actors/actresses taking on roles of hotel staff and being part of the narrative, it is up to the audience members to solve the case and identify the killer through a similar game structure of ‘Cluedo’ as this scheme was inspired by one of the many existing pop cultured references. 1
