The 2013 golf season is coming to a close, and,
with just a couple more tournaments left on his
schedule, it's looking like 2013 will be a winless
year for Rory McIlroy. And for a player like him –
a record-breaking golf prodigy
– that simply won't do.

of 2011 and
2012 it looked
as if McIlroy’s stellar
career could only go in
one direction, and that was
up and up. His dominance at
the 2011 US Open set him up
as the next big thing in world
golf. He couldn’t put a foot
wrong. With the game seemingly
tamed he became the ultimate
celebrity golfer, with the sportstar
girlfriend, the multi-million
dollar mansion in the exclusive
Jupiter area of Florida and the
biggest sponsorship deal with
Nike since Tiger blew the sport
away over a decade previously.
And yet 2013
has been a year
to forget for
