New airport delivers flight boost to Donnafugata

The fortunes of Donnafugata Golf Resort & Spa are set to soar this year with European visitors being offered increased access to the deluxe Sicilian venue following the opening of the new Comiso Airport .

From August , low cost carrier Ryanair will launch the first of its three new routes into Comiso airport , which is located just 20 minutes away from the award-winning five-star resort . The new airport was officially opened on May 30 , making it an attractive alternative due to the reduced travel time and transfer costs .
Ryanair will initially operate a total of ten flights per week from the three airports – London Stansted , Rome Ciampino and Brussels Charleroi – with fares starting from just € 30.99 .
The new services , which are currently on sale until March 2014 , are forecast to deliver more than 150,000 passengers per year into the region , with more routes and airlines anticipated to follow in the near future .
