AT AUGUSTA

Has there ever been a more eventful Masters ?

Consider the facts : a 14-yearold who makes the cut despite being penalised for slow play ; a 14-time major champion who finishes within four strokes of the lead ( the exact margin of difference had his ball not hit the pin on the 15th on Friday and he had made a birdie ), but who would have been disqualified had his name been anything other than Tiger Woods ; a 55-year-old who birdied the first three holes to move into contention ; an Australian with left brain-right brain issues ( who should have been penalised for slow play ); an Argentine golfer who hasn ' t won on a major tour since landing The Masters in 2009 ; and an Australian who demonstrates more clearly than anybody else why anchored putters should be banned . And some people say golf is dull !
Let ' s start with Woods , shall we ? First of all , it is fair to say that he is very nearly back to his brilliant best . He certainly proved once and for all that he has rediscovered his putting touch . Now if only he can straighten out his driver .
