Water wise gardening
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
By Kevin Charles
Plant up these pretty perennials and
still be water wise!
Being a water wise gardener does not necessarily mean that you have to have a
garden with rocks and aloes. If you feed, mulch, use your water efficiently and choose
water wise plants, you can have these beautiful flowering perennials all year round.
Remember a happy flower can’t be a hungry flower - so use compost, mulch, manure
and fertiliser on a regular basis. All the above supply nourishment to your plants and
improve your soils.
The following perennials do not need as much watering and are ideal for a water wise
garden.
