[EPIPHYLLUM OXYPETALLUM
The botanical name means candle or
waxy and is referring to the flowers.
Cereus is used in botany to describe
various elongated cacti genera - hence
the word is in the names of the two
epiphytic cacti on the left. This cactus
is terrestrial and grows in clumps of
10m high grey-green, ribbed columns.
The flowers are like large white torches
which blaze in the moonlight.
Other infamous night queens
The following familiar shrubs also are also sweetly scented and are each a
treasure to behold in your garden. They have delicious perfumes that infuse the
air with a sense of magic and joy.
