Summer flowering annuals
An alternative to Busy Lizzies
If you have decided not to grow Busy Lizzies, there are other annuals you could grow instead with similar qualities.
New Guinea Impatiens
Torenia
Impatiens hawkeri
Torenia fournieri
If you are looking for that
burst of colour that the Busy
Lizzies offer, these summer
annuals will offer you just
that. Torenia is a bushy
compact summer flowering
annual, which reaches a
height of 25cm. They are a
bedding plant and great for
pot plants, window boxes and
hanging baskets. They do well
in full sun or partial shade and
their soil needs to be normal
to slightly moist. They should
be planted 30 cm apart. T
