home & decor arrangements. The leaves are very hardy and dry beautifully. It is best to use the mature leaves as the new leaves may flop, but they can be snipped off. It is the perfect tree to grow in a medium to large garden, as it is drought tolerant, evergreen, requires little maintenance and is useful for screening. The Penny gum, when planted at the bottom of the garden, blends well with its soft grey leaves and gives a feeling of distance; it is also used as a contrasting plant in landscaping. Candles For a romantic twinkling feel, a wall of bubble candles was hung from a branch behind the table, creating a breathtaking background. Groups of different-sized candles were added to the trailing centrepiece and the hanging floral chandelier. To let the beauty of the occasion sparkle more, Brenda says there is no limit to the candles you should use, but remember to use different sizes to add more impact. If you are sitting outside, don’t forget to use candle covers to stop the wind from blowing them out. The beautiful cream candles used in the table setting were made by the talented Brenda, who makes them in a variety of sizes for all her events. Chair covers The final touch of silver was added by using chair covers made from organza. Brenda, who hired these chairs from Rooney’s, says that chair covers are easy enough to make and can add that personal touch.
