Garden design Best on show Charles Waters with Running Dog Nursery 1 2 3 4 This combined team effort used interesting textures of grasses and succulents planted in a tower of large tyres. This novel idea is perfect for creating a garden in areas that need height or corners that need an uplift. Plants used 1. Festuca sp A low-growing exotic grass that forms tufts and comes in shades of blue to greenish blue. It likes shade and water. Don’t confuse it with other water wise grasses. 2. Euphorbia tiriculii This is a fast-growing indigenous euphorbia that is well known for its hardiness and water wise qualities. 3. Sedum sp This beautiful creeping ground cover is perfect for the water wise garden. 4. Horsetail grass/ Mexican Feather grass This is a beautiful water wise grass, but be aware that it is very invasive. 14
