Tired of wasting time carrying water?
When spending time physically
carrying water from a water source
to a crop, valuable time is wasted
and not much gained. However, a
more efficient irrigation alternative
to this laborious method can create
significantly higher crop yields,
putting more money in farmers’
pockets, which can be spent on
school fees, medicine and ultimately
expanding their crops. The availability
of power in Zimbabwe also restricts
the usage of pumps at certain times.
There is a solution to this dilemma,
the Flexipump, a simple irrigation
pump that requires no electricity
and lugging of water. It’s as easy as
pumping up a bike tyre!
What is the Flexipump?
This simple pump only needs to be
pumped like a bike pump and it can
irrigate a quarter of an acre and up
to 1,600 litres/ hour. It can pump
from a well or a stream 6m below the
flexipump and with a pressure of 2.5
bar, it is able to pump water 100m
along the ground to the fields.

How does it help
small scale growers or
gardeners?
The flexipump has been designed
so that farmers can make the
replacement parts it needs, instead
of having to travel long distances to
buy them. It is intuitive to use and
maintain, only requiring very basic
tools.
It weighs 2.6kg so it is light enough to
be carried around, from home to field.
The flexipump can be linked directly
into a drip irrigation system, making
irrigation even more efficient
Only $100
per unit
Each unit comes with
a standard EU spec
rigid suction hose.
Our primary aim is to make the
flexipump available to farmers at
an affordable price and to see them
and their farm’s thrive through the
increased irrigation the pump can
provide.
