Garden clubs and recently , have won international competitions like the Chelsea Flower show or the World Flower Show . Our floral artists have just returned from the World Flower show in Ireland , making the NAGC and Zimbabwean people very proud of their wonderful achievements .
Specialist Clubs
There are several specialist clubs ( societies ) in Harare . So if you prefer to learn more about orchids or if aloes , cacti , succulents , palms and cycads are more your thing , these two societies are definitely worth joining .
Opportunities to compete internationally in floral art or horticulture
Once you are a member of the NAGC , there are opportunities to represent Zimbabwe internationally in these disciplines . Your club and NAGC give you all the direction and assistance to compete and , hopefully , return home to Zimbabwe with that sought after Gold award . Six Zimbabwean competitors competed against the world top florists in Ireland June , 2014 at the World Flower Show . Zimbabwe trumped with Lorette Smith and Lyn Beahan winning Gold . Mrs . Elise Oosthuizen was commended for her arrangement .
