Build your own plastic bottle greenhouse

Teach your kids about recycling and reusing by building a plastic bottle greenhouse
This is a great family or community project to teach kids about recycling or reusing plastic bottles by turning them into a greenhouse . When it is complete , they can use it for whatever they choose – a playhouse or a greenhouse . Whilst , we have been building our greenhouse , it has caught a lot of people ’ s attention , mainly due to the amount of waste we throw away , thus encouraging them to recycle . For me , I think the primary goal is not to have the flashiest greenhouse on the block but to make kids aware of recycling at a young age .
Some of the initial framework is probably going to be done by adults – but there ’ s still plenty that can be done by children of all ages and the basic idea can be adapted to make everything from a bin to a greenhouse . It ’ s a particularly good project for schools or large groups – but even with dozens of willing hands , it ’ s a big undertaking , so it ’ s not going to get done in an afternoon !
What you need
About 1600 plastic water or coke bottles - we got from functions , restaurants , friends and family . Asking them to collect has made them realise they need to recycle too .
