Why do you think black and white suits the long exposure
images?
Because mostly, what I’m looking for in long exposures,
aesthetically, is to reduce the amount of different structures
(waves, clouds) to end up with a clearer image. The black
and white also tends to create clearer images because you
are, as a spectator, not distracted by the colors, you can
focus directly on the shapes that the image has to offer. So,
for me, those two technics complement one another very
well.
How do you personally enjoy the stunning artworks that
you create? Do you print them out and display at home,
make an album, etc?
I don’t print my images for myself but I occasionally take a
print that’s not currently hanging in an exhibition and put it
on my wall. In general, I’m more interested in looking at art
of other artists because there is nothing I can learn from my
own work and, for me, of course, there is no mystery in my
own images. They are clear to me.
