What do you look for when you edit an image? What direction do you take an image? I look for visual impact, visual balance when I choose to edit an image and also the story telling feature of the image. I am looking for the image that represents the story or the situation I am trying to convey. The only post-shoot I do in Photoshop is converting my raw files to black and white and the basic dodge and burn techniques using Photoshop. I am a traditionalist - I like to keep the image the way it is as I see it in the viewfinder. My images are not cropped - I am cropping as I shoot the image. Most of my work occurs during the actual shoot while the postproduction work is mostly to be able to convert what I see in viewfinder onto the screen and then, onto a print to represent as closely as it can to what I see in my viewfinder. © Larry Louie http://www.larrylouie.com/
