5.Fashion Writer Fashion writers need to be creative, have imagination and insight. These individuals need to be impassioned themselves otherwise there is no way they can write about a designer’s collection with any great effect. Remember that a good fashion writer does not necessarily require images for their article – if they can recreate the image to the reader, they are already there! A fashion writer is someone with an eye for detail. Someone who perhaps likes controversy and likes to think out of the box. A fashion writer is a person with a genuine passion for fashion, who feels the collection and is not afraid to stand out on a limb. 6. Fashion Stylist A fashion stylist designs the visual images we see in magazine articles or videos in the music industry. Fashion stylists work for individuals, fashion houses and clothing brands. Their main responsibilities include providing fashion advice; choosing and co-ordinating outfits for models in photo shoots or actors in television and film; and choosing props and accessories and preparing them for shoots. 7. Textile Designer Textile designers create two-dimensional designs that can be used, often as a repeat design, in the production of knit, weave and printed fabrics or textile products. Working in both industrial and non-industrial locations, they often specialise or work in a specialist context within the textile industry. The two major areas of textiles are: interiors (upholstery, soft furnishings and carpets) fabrics for clothing (fashion or specialist, e.g. fireproof). Many textile designers are self-employed, while others work as part of a design team. 8. Personal Stylist Personal stylists are image consultants who help their clients make decisions about their image. While there are no requirements to enter this field, many stylists study fashion- related subjects, and voluntary certification is available.Personal stylists help their clients put together outfits and make fashion choices. These stylists may also be known as image consultants. No formal education is required for this career, and stylists often gain experience by starting small and advising friends and family until they build up a portfolio of clients. Although formal training options are limited, some fashion schools offer classes specifically geared toward stylists. Professional certification is available in this field, though optional. 9. Fashion Public Relations Fashion PR is the promotion of clothing and accessory labels and brands through earned media channels — including broadcast, print, and online media outlets. 10.
