The League of Young Professionals is a national effort to bring together young professionals from all diverse fields together to interact, network & share and to collectively pursue ventures, initiatives and events that will meet our social, financial and professional needs while having fun and giving back to the Kenyan society.

Our business is to create value for our members by tapping and implementing member’s ideas that will ignite and enhance our members leadership, organizational & professionals’ skills, entrepreneurial & business skills, our social skills as well as helping us achieve financial freedom.

What we do

Professional and leadership development: Our monthly networking forums provide our members with an excellent opportunity to be mentored by the best in industry. We also provide members an opportunity to take leadership positions in the clubs to grow, stretch themselves and unleash the leaders in themselves.

Business & Entrepreneurship development: We provide a platform to enable our members start and grow successful enterprises, through training, networks and collective investments.

Social development: This provides an axcellent platform for our members to network, connect and make strong and reliable connections neccesary for business and social development at a national level

Community service: LYP Kenya encourages and offers opportunities for members to engage in community er service. Every LYP club and every LYP Member assumes a responsibility to find ways to improve the quality of life for those in our communities and to serve the public interest.

LYP kenya

The annual LYP Gala is one of the two signature events in the annual calender of LYP. The 2013 LYP Gala was celebrated on 16 November 2013 with the theme being Africa Rising- New thinking, New Opportunities. The ritzy Nairobi Safari club hotel hosted the epic event graced by eminent Kenyans in different fields including the first woman Vice Chancellor in Kenya, Professor Olive Mugenda of Kenyatta University; the CEO of Keroche Breweries Mrs Tabitha Karanja, and the former CEO of Kenya’s Vision 2030 and World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, Mr. Mugo Kibati.

Each of the speaker wowed the anxious attendees with their great achievements and more so the hurdles that they have had to cross to achieve the great strides in their work. Professor Olive Mugenda talked of the huge challenge presented to her to implement a strategy whose drafting she had previously spear- headed an of emphasized on the importance of working to the best interest of the assignment at hand as it may end up influencing your future.

Mrs Tabitha recounted her journey which could only be described as “facing the giants”. A journey filled with ups and downs and challenges from all quarters of the industry as well as the legislation. To her the key to success is commitment, passion for excellence, vision and undying resilience. She emphasized the importance of equipping oneself with knowledgeable and hands on human resources that have an ability to make use of existing technology to add value to a company.

Mugo Kibati on the other hand brought the true spirit of Vision 2030 to the audience with clear, tangible examples of existing opportunities being created by the vision 2030 flagship projects for the entrepreneurs in Kenya, east Africa and the whole of the African continent.
