Zinnias to Grow in Space
NASA, for the first time,
will be planting the flowering crop on the orbiting
laboratory. The NASA
astronaut has activated
the Veggie plant growth
system and its rooting pillows that contain the Zinnia seeds on the space
station.
The Zinnias will be grown
for 60 days, requiring the LED lights to be on for 10 hours and off for 14 hours
to stimulate the plant. .
