NEPAL EARTHQUAKE
Nepal was hit by an
earthquake of 7.8
magnitude on the
Richter scale, and a
maximum Mercalli
Intensity, with its epicenter at east southeast Lamjung, Nepal. The Mercalli intensity is a sesmic
scale used to measure the effect of an
Earthquake and is
different from the
Richter scale which
measures the magnitude of the Earthquake.
The natural calamity
has caused severe
damages, turning
Nepal to a mass of
rubble. With the
death toll mounting
each day, the people
of Nepal are still
struggling to cope
with the devastation. Nearly 6,000
people including
women and children
have died and more
than thousands
have been injured.
The houses have
turned into debris.
