It’s been found that Andreas Lubitz the co-pilot was
suffering from depression.
In fact he did not let the pilot enter back into the cockpit and immediately decided to descend the plane,
which ultimately crashed
into the French Alps, killing
149 passengers.
Information on the Crash
was gathered from the
Black Box in the
plane, which recorded all the happenings on the flight.

Indian Navy Loses 2 of its pilots in
a surveillance sortie.
Lt Kiran Shekhawat and co-pilot Lt Abhinav Nagori lost their lives on board
the Dornier surveillance aircraft that
crashed around 20 nautical miles southwest of Goa.
Lt. Shekhawat was an observer. Her Father and Husband are both in the Navy.
She had gone against all odds to become
an officer and devote her life to the Navy.
The aircraft has been said to have been
found few
nautical
miles beyond goa.
The Black
box has
been retrieved,
but the
reason for
the crash
isn’t known yet.
Commander Nikhil Kuldip, the third
person on the plane, had over 4000
hours of flying experience, and was overseeing the low flying sortie. He was
saved by fisherman and is said to be out
of danger now.

MARTIAN MILESTONES
NASA's long-serving Mars rover Opportunity set a significant benchmark as it
clocked in 26.219 miles (42 kilometres)the first-ever Martian marathon.
It took the robot 11 years and two
months to beat the previous record held
by the Soviet-era Lunokhod 2 Moon
Rover.
Opportunity arrived on the Red Planet
on January 25, 2004, with an "original
three-month prime mission." But the
mission seems to have continued and
it’s been 11 years and the rover is still
going strong!
NASA's Curiosity rover
has found
nitrogen on
the surface
of Mars, a
discovery
that adds to
evidence the
Red Planet could once
have sustained life.
By drilling into Martian
rocks, the rover found
evidence of nitrates,
compounds containing
nitrogen that can be
used by living organisms.
The Curiosity team has already found evidence that other ingredients needed for
life, such as liquid water and organic matter, once existed at the site known as Gale
Crater.
