Samsung to Launch Its Own Operating System for Smart Phones
SEOUL: South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co Ltd plans to launch a new smart phone running on its
own Tizen operating system in India later this month, according to South Korea's Maeil Business
Newspaper. Currently the smart phone company uses the Android Platform. With the advent of Tizen,
its dependence on Android (Which is an operating system built by Google, an American company) will
reduce.
The U.S. and China announce a
breakthrough deal to reduce both
nations’ environmental impact
President Barack Obama and China’s President Xi Jinping
announced a breakthrough deal on Wednesday, to bring
about climate change. Climate change deal on
Wednesday.
The deal aims to reduce both nations’ enormous carbon
emissions and reliance on fossil fuels.
President Obama calls the deal a historic agreement. He said, "As the world's two largest economies, energy
consumers, and emitters of greenhouse gases, we have a special responsibility to lead the global effort against climate
change."

30 Years of The Union Carbide Factory Blast in
Bhopal
It’s been 30 years since the Bhopal Gas Tragedy as it is called.
On the night of 2nd- 3rd December 1984, there was a gas leak in
the Union Carbide India Ltd. Pesticide plant in Bhopal. Over 5
Lakh people were exposed to a toxic gas, Methyl Isocyanate
(MIC) and other chemicals. The toxic gas spread in and around
the areas close to the plant, causing death, impairments, and
injuries. Some were passed on to even those born years after
the blast. The Bhopal Gas tragedy is hence considered the
world’s worst industrial disaster.
