YOUNG CHRONICLE MS Dhoni, The making of the Legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an inspiration for all. Rambo and Pranks were reading more about him, when they chanced upon an article that gave away the subtle details about him as a person. Pranks was most inspired by the fact that winning the 2011 world cup wasn’t the proudest moment in MS Dhoni’s life. It was when he accepted the rank of honorary lieutenant colonel in the Parachute Regiment, that he felt the proudest. He in fact stated that he would like to be part of the Army when he retires from Cricket. Rambo was pretty fascinated by the fact that Dhoni and he had a common interest other than Cricket, they both like reading up on weapons of combat. In fact Rambo is waiting to reach the right age to play Paint Ball. The fact that Dhoni is patriotic is pretty amazing, and it reflects when he plays for the country. Dhoni chose the Parachute Regiment, after making a real study of manoeuvres, of geography and physics, and of mental application to various challenges. He had the choice of four regiments but chose a fifth, the Parachutes, because it is a hundred per cent volunteer regiment. He felt he would be able to contribute more with them later in life. On a lighter note, Rambo and Pranks were amused at knowing that Dhoni had a peculiar problem while buying Jeans. The trouble was, that his thighs are very thick, and he has to buy 34-36 waist jeans, and get it altered to a 32, only so that his thighs fit in. Here’s one thing that stayed with both the children, was the way Dhoni set priorities when he had a big cricket match just a day before his exams. His father then asked him, if he was ready for the exam, which he was. Then his father said, 'with only 24 hours to go you will either be ready or you will not. Go and play,'… he said, 'have some fun for there is nothing more you can do in your studying.' In other words, you now have your priorities in order." Dhoni has always been a big fan of Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. In fact, he revealed that he used to wake up only to watch Sachin’s innings, and went back to sleep… he hardly ever watched a complete match. In fact, he is so fond of sleeping that he wakes up only a few hours before his match, to get ready and eat, and play.
