Mumbai Indians Win the IPL– 8IPL–
Angad Madaan
KOLKATTA: Mumbai Indians won their second IPL
title. It was an emphatic win with roaring crowds
supporting the captain Rohit Sharma while he received the cup. .His sweep to a half century in just
26 balls, and Simmons 68 of just 45 balls, added a
lot of excitement to the game. Malinga's fabulous
bowling throughout the IPl and especially in this
match was matched by Mc Clenaghan 3 wickets in
the game before. The viewers also witnessed some mind blowing stumping by Parthiv Patel.
MI stands for "Mission Impossible" but this time the mission seemed possible. Harbhajan Singh took away some crucial wickets, like that of Smith, and Raina’s performance was
extraordinarily commendable. A win like this was unimaginable, in the beginning of the
tournament. But the blue glamorous outfitters did outshine the "best team" and win with a
clean sweep.
In my view, it was not just the flawless game displayed by the Mumbai Indians, but undoubtedly an unexpected decision of choosing to field, by Dhoni, that led to the win. As a
fan, I'm still baffled at his decision. It was probably not Dhoni’s day. Yet, I have to admit, it
was an enjoyable match for all viewers as we all got to witness some amazing cricket by
the Mumbai Indians.
John Nash, A Beautiful Mind and A Nobel Prize Winner
Nobel Prize Winner John Nash
and Wife Alicia, Die in a Car
Crash.
John Nash was a well
renowned Mathematician and Economist
who is best known for
the development of The
Game Theory amongst
other algorithms used in
decision making. He
was awarded the Nobel
Prize for his contributions in Economics, in
1994.
However, not only was he brilliant, he was schizophrenic
too. In fact, a movie, ‘A Beautiful Mind’ was made on his life,
which won the Oscar as well. Nash
had been working
with the RAND Corporation, which implemented his
Game Theory in
making strategic
decisions during the Cold War.
Slowly and steadily, Nash started
believing that almost everything had
codes embedded in it;
even the regular newspapers. As they say,
brilliance does come
with a bit of madness
attached.
It started getting more
and more difficult for his
wife, Alicia, to stand by
him. But she did so till
the very end. John
Nash and his Wife Alicia, died on
May 23rd, this year, in a car crash.
Even though Nash was already 86,
his death is truly a great loss for the
world.
