Here are more pointers on the Rail Budget
– We all know about freight or goods trains. Many businesses and farmers use these trains, to
transport goods. The Railways has a lot of regulations regarding the entire process of
transporting the goods. Many of these regulations will be deregulated, making it easier to
transport goods.
– The railways has created a framework to invite private investment and is forging jointventures with states and Public Sector companies.
– Railway expenses will be increased by 2600 %
– The
transformation of Railways will have huge opportunities for the ‘Make In India’ campaign
launched by the Modi government, last year.
– Speedier Railways – 9 hi-speed train corridors will be introduced. To create train tracks to
accommodate high-speed trains, is the highest priority.
– Modern trains called “Train sets”, will save 20% journey time within next 2 years
– 1000MV Solar plants will set-up via private partnerships, by the railways, to bring about the
electrification of the railways.
– 77 new projects will come up, which will double, triple/quadruple electrification.
– A new State of the art cargo center will come up, for perishable goods, for farmers.
– 330% increase in the electrification of railways over the previous year.
– New Satellite railway terminals will be established in 10 major cities
– Request all MPs to use a part of their funds to improve the customer amenities at the platform
– 120 crore has been provided for new installation of new lifts and escalators to facilitate
movements
