What is Breast Cancer?
The month of October is observed as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Why make people aware about Breast Cancer?
The government makes people aware of Breast Cancer as it’s one of the most common cancers found in women.
What’s Breast Cancer?
Breast Cancer, as the name suggests, is cancer in Breast. The question really is,
what is Cancer? Well, Cancer is just unprecedented growth… when certain cells
start multiplying at an unprecedented rate, they are termed as cancerous Cells. No
cause has been identified for such a growth. Here’s a video explaining the what
cancer is.
This month is dedicated to Breast Cancer awareness, because the government
wants all women over the age of 25 to get themselves checked for early detection
of cancer, so that their chances of survival are high.
It also wants people to get rid of the misconception pertaining to Breast Cancer
happening only to women. Male breast cancer, which is rare though, is largely
overlooked.
Did you Know? India has nearly 1.8 million people suffering from cancer. Patients suffering with breast, cervical and oral cancers top the list. Every 13th new cancer patient in the world is an Indian.
