Solar Impulse 2’s India Visit
Solar Impulse 2 is one of the first few Solar or Sun energy powered planes. Solar Impulse 2 or SI2 landed in
Ahmedabad on March 12th, and then took off to reach Varanasi on 18th March. SI2 has more than 17,000 solar
cells built into its wings to capture sun’s energy and use it to fly the plane. SI2 hopes to promote Green Energy
as it attempts to travel around the world without using Petrol or Diesel.
The flight took off from UAE and with Bertrand Piccard and Andre Borschberg, the two pilots and Founders,
who will fly around the world in 5 months, with no fuel. The plane will run on solar energy, completely.
