Mahendra Singh Dhoni Retires from Test Cricket
M.S Dhoni, decided to retire from test cricket. Test
Cricket is a long format of the game, where a match
lasts about 5 days. The game is usually slow, and is
not played very often these days, since people prefer
watching matches that get over in a day.
Dhoni’s retirement shocked many. The announcement
was sudden, as he had not indicated that such a
decision was coming. Some people have linked his
retirement to India’s bad performance in the last
Test Series with Australia. But Dhoni claims that
playing many formats of the game, T20, One Day
Matches, and Test Matches, was getting stressful and
he wanted to concentrate on the One Day Innings
Matches and T20s.
Dhoni has been one of the best captains India has
had. It was under his captaincy that India rose to
be the number one team in the world. His leaving
even one format of the game has shocked many.
