YOUNG CHRONICLE November 28th, 2014 THE YOUNG CHRONICLE Malala and Kailash Satyarthi On Receiving the Nobel Prize and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi attend the award ceremony. To read more about the Nobel Prize, Malala Yousafzai’s and kailash Satyarthi’s story, read the newspaper dated October 31st, 2014. India Wins the Blind Cricket Rohan and Priyanka have been very excited at the fact that a teenager and an Indian won the Nobel Peace Prize this time around. They watched the entire ceremony with a lot of excitement. Also, they found Malala’s thoughts and opinions to be very rational. Malala Yousafzai the 17 year old courageous girl from the North West Province of Pakistan, won the Nobel Peace Prize for her grit and determination to receive and spread education amongst all girls in Pakistan. Despite threats from the Taliban and having been shot in the head, she stood by her conviction. This is a story of courage, worth talking about. This Wednesday, as Malala received the prize, her regret was, that children had to fight to receive what was their basic right, the right to education. She also felt that if children are taught tolerance, patience and peace, then by God’s grace there will be good relations between India and Pakistan and we will be like brothers once again. On the other hand, Kailash Satyarthi, who had also won the Nobel Prize along with Malala, had worked extensively for the rights of children. He, 60 now, has spent his entire life working for the welfare of children. Satyarthi felt that, peace is every child’s human and fundamental right”. He added that, “Our youth should also realise that with respect, with freedom, with good education and with peace we want to live our lives. And if there comes any obstacle in this path, the youth from India and Pakistan will strengthen the fight for peace under the leadership of our daughters like Malala.” Malala, the youngest recipient of a Nobel Prize, said it was her wish that Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Worldcup! Rons and Pranks both tried playing cricket with their eyes shut. But they were too scared. Mumma papa warned that it wasn’t something they should try as it was dangerous. They wondered, how did the brave hearts actually get to playing professional cricket without being able to see, and that too so well? Of course, they were immensely proud that India had won the blind world cup against Pakistan, this year, but what inspired them was the grit and determination of all the athletes, who fought all odds to play the game.
