The Alphabet Google will now a part of a bigger company called Alphabet. Why? Because, the company has grown into a lot of fields and industries and it would be unfair to merge all of them with the company they began with and the company that earns them the maximum money. Hence, founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin would be heading Alphabet, a large company that Google is only a part of. Alphabet owns companies across several industries, including technology, the life sciences, investment capital, and research. Google will also be a part of Alphabet. Sergey Brin will be President, and Larry Page will become CEO of Alphabet. Sundar Pichai, an Indian, will take his position as CEO of Google. Who is Sundar Pichai? The India born Sundar Pichai has been appointed as the CEO of the ‘slimmed-down’ Google Company. Pichai was born in Tamil Nadu and completed his Metallurgical Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur, after which he did his Masters from Stanford and went on to do his MBA at the prestigious Wharton School of Business. Pichai, was earlier the senior Vice-President of product at Google. He was the driving force behind Google Chrome, Gmail, Google Maps, Drive, Android, amongst other things. As CEO of Google, he will now lead the search business, YouTube, Android and the Chrome operating systems.
