YOUNG CHRONICLE
The book I read recently
By Qusai Rangoonwala
I usually like to read character building stories. I recently read the story of Thomo and Kyle which was about a very hard
working boy. He use to always work hard in what ever he did and
thats why he achieved all the goals with good ranks. One day his
teacher told all the kids about sports day and as usual Thomo decided
to work hard to win. But his friend Kyle was not hard working and
was very overconfident. Thomo won the sports events with his hard
work and Kyle lost because of overconfidence and no hardwork.
These character building stories teach me a lot about our behaviour.
This story taught me not to be overconfident in anything I do and we
should always work hard to achieve our goal. Working hard like
Thomo will always make us win every event that we participate in.
Reading good books is a very important as it teaches us a lot of things
and also improves our language. We should not stop reading.
What’s Happening in the Sport of My Choice…
By Adi Ali Khan
Hi my name is Adi Ali Khan, I love all the sports and play and represent my class in
school. I love Football, Cricket & Basketball the most. At this point of time the
India and Australia Cricket series is very a very hot topic of discussion between my
Mom & Dad, and me. As of now, we as a family are disappointed with India’s
performance in both, Test & One Day matches in this series. I am worried what will
happen in the world cup, which will start in a few days, if we continue to play this
way.
In an earlier series also India did not perform well initially, but they bounced back
3
well and won the series, let’s hope for the same sort of revival. I love Dhoni’s
captaincy skills and have faith that he will do some miracle and improve the playing
style of the team, so that we can perform well. I believe that Virat Kohli and Raina
will also contribute to the team’s victory in the coming days.
My Dad says that Cricket is a team game and the team has to perform as a whole. In fact, I learn’t this lesson last
Sunday, when I and my friend played very well, we made a good number of runs and took some wickets, but lost
because of bad fielding. The Indian Cricket team should learn from the Australian team, as they play with a ‘never
give up’ attitude, and fight well till the last moment.
In Basketball & Football too, the team which plays as a single unit, wins. Mom says that not only do all sports help
build team spirit, they also develop our minds along with our bodies. Which is why sports are important on the
whole. So, I would recommend, to all my friends and readers, to play at least one sport daily, to keep healthy and
fresh. As a family, we gather all my colony friends and play outdoor games in a nearby park. I also play Basketball
daily in a Sports Complex near my house, it gives me immense pleasure and helps me focus on everything, better.
