April 3rd, 2015 THE YOUNG CHRONICLE For 6-7 Year Olds or 1st-2nd Graders 126 YEARS OF THE EIFFEL Rambo and Pranks love the Eiffel Tower, and want to go and visit it soon. When they heard that the Eiffel Tower had been standing since 126 years, were pretty surprised. They hadn’t ever heard of a building that old. So they decided to learn more about Gustave Eiffel, the person responsible for building it. Gustave was born in Dijon, France. Gustave studied Chemistry at university, and soon took a job at with Charles Nepveu, a specialized contractor in metallic construction. Nepveu provided Eiffel with his first job as a project manager for a railway bridge in France. The young engineer showed his talents and soon started directing projects at the age of twenty six.
