Japanese Maglev Train
A Japanese maglev train, the
fastest passenger train in the
world has broken its own speed
record. It hit a 603 km/h in a test
run near Mount Fuji.
With the most advanced rail
services, Japan’s maglev
trains are expected to link Tokyo and Osaka in just one
hour by 2045.
The train uses electrically
charged magnets to move carriages above the rail track. It
surpassed the 590 km/h speed
that was set in a previous record. The Central Japan Railway
which operates the Maglev train
aims to introduce the service
between Tokyo and Central City
of Nagoya by 2027.
World Earth Day
Earth is the only planet in the Universe
where life forms exist.
However, in the recent
times, environmental
problems, pollution,
and climate changes
have posed serious
threats to our natural
assets. In order to sustain life, attempts
should be made to
protect and preserve
the planet Earth.
With a focus on the
environmental challenges of our time, the
“World Earth Day” is
celebrated every year on April 22, as
an annual event. Earth Day was first
celebrated in the year 1970 and then
started celebrating annually on global basis by almost 192 countries.
The main objective, however, is to
create awareness among the people
about environmental safety and
demonstrate measures to protect the
environment.
This year, World Earth day was celebrated under the theme- ‘Water Wonderful World’. The focus was on climatic changes and global warming
that leads to rise in temperature with
each passing day.
In our country, many school students, colleges and organizations
initiated to celebrate this day. The
changing ecosystem has diverse
affects. The country’s exposure to
climate changes can spoil development. Change in climatic condition can reduce agricultural production, cause more health hazards and cause a lot of harm.
Thus, India is facing alarming situations concerning the climate. The
fast growing economy of our country is deeply affected by climate
changes and global warming.
