Kung Pow Chicken - The Funny Book I Read this Summer
The name of the book I read this summer is "Kung Pow
Chicken." By Cyndi Marko. The story is about a chicken
called Gordon and his brother Benny.
Gordon falls into a toxic sludge and gets some super duper
powers. Equipped with these super powers, his tail is able
to tingle and sense danger much before it strikes. He is
able to flap his wings, and his bok becomes louder than
usual. With these exciting superpowers, he decides that he
would make the world a better place. So he makes himself
a Super Hero dress and names his Super hero avatar 'Kung
Pao Chicken'.
One day Gordon goes to the Fowl Fall festival, where all the
trouble starts. Evil granny wants to sell itchy sweaters. So
she thinks of a wicked plan. Her fierce idea is to distribute
cookies that make all the chickens loose all their feathers!
During the festival, when Evil Granny’s cookies are distributed, some snowy- white- taily
things start flying like gliders in the air… the chickens’ feathers are all over the place. All
chickens start to loose their feathers. Once their feathers are all gone, they start rushing to
buy the sweaters. Granny does all this to sell her rough, scratchy sweaters.
Gordon is of course alerted by his tail and avoids the cookies. But when he finds his friends
losing feathers, he takes his cookies to his Scientist uncle for testing. His uncle also loses his
feathers when he tastes the cookies.
While uncle is at work, Gordon goes back to the school festival to seek the evil Granny's address. As Benny and Gordon confront Granny, they are tied up.
Gordon somehow frees himself and goes to his uncle. By then uncle has done his research
and made a medicine to cure the problem. That medicine can regrow the feat
