THE YOUNG CHRONICLE
The Space Story
the universe.
Rambo and Pranks have always been inquisitive about
Space. They are very excited about the idea of Aliens. In fact
Rambo dreams about Aliens pretty often.
But the study of space involves much more than finding
Aliens.

HAPPY 25, HUBBLE!
Space study is important to know more
about the Earth itself, and about
Earth’s past and future.
Rambo was very curious about what NASA stands for,
because every time he reads about space, he comes across
this word.
What is NASA?
NASA stands for
National
Aeronautics and
Space
Administration.
NASA is a United
States government
agency that is
responsible for
Space exploration started in the world in 1957 with the
science and
launch of a Russian satellite. NASA was created a year later,
technology related
in 1958. NASA’s job wasto air and space.space exploration
to oversee U.S.
and research.
What’s Beyond Our Solar System?
After understanding what NASA Does, Rambo and
Pranks our two very curious kids, were keen to know
what’s beyond the 8 planets in our Solar System. To this
mumma told them that there were many more Suns,
which had a system of planets revolving around them.
So there were many Solar Systems in the Universe.
Millions of solar systems together made
galaxies, and there were millions of
galaxies in
If you look up in the sky, you sometimes see many stars.
But many times, you can only see a few. That’s because
when you look at stars from the Earth, you have to look
through the thick, warm and polluted air.
Which is why Scientists have installed a telescope right
outside the Earth’s atmosphere, which takes a picture
of the universe in much greater detail. A telescope helps
see things that are very very far away. This telescope is
called the Hubble Telescope. It is named after a famous
scientist Edwin P. Hubble.
The Hubble Space has been in space for about 25 years.
In fact, preparations of its 25th birthday have already
begun. A replica of the teliscope has been created and
stationed in New York for people to see.
The Hubble telescope takes pictures of planets, stars
and galaxies.

Did you know that Earth is a
part of the Milky Way Galaxy?
It is called Milky Way because
it looked like a white arc
around the Earth when scientists
realised it was our galaxy.
