It’s now between Vishwanathan Anand and Magnus Carlson of Norway. The two have currently on equal footing; with two drawn matches and one win each. There are 8 matches left and the one who gets 61/2- 7 wins, out of a total of 12 matches, will be declared the World Chess Champion. Anand has been the World Chess Champion 5 times (in 2000, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012), and we have our fingers crossed for this year too. Have a Happy Children’s Day! Who was Chacha Nehru and Why is Children’s Day Celebrated on His Birthday? Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, was India’s first Prime Minister. He was born on November 14th, a Hundred and Twenty Five years ago! Jawaharlal Nehru served the nation during the freedom struggle against the British. He was a wonderful leader and was made the Prime Minister as soon as India won its freedom. Nehru's contribution to Society Nehruji was the first Prime Minister of the nation, and served the country for 17 years. He actually built India. THE BERLIN WALL After The 2nd World War got over, Germany got divided into East and West Germany. On August 13, 1961, the German Democratic Republic (GDR) decided The birth of Chacha Nehru Chacha Nehru was very fond of children. He often compared children to Roses, saying that ‘children were like the buds in a garden’. He felt that children should be carefully and lovingly brought up, as they were the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow. He believed that children are the real strength of a country and the very foundation of society.
