YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
WRAP UP
The 22 week Youth Development program has concluded for the year, finishing up with a wonderful presentation dinner on Saturday 24th of October.
The dinner flowed on from the opening of the world class Jack Gale Centre, where graduates were given a brief history on the Club and the old“ Moonbar” facility. The centre is going to be a great learning tool for our YD squad going forward, and we are very appreciative of all the effort that has gone in to produce a world class training facility.
The dinner gave us time to sit back and reflect on the year that has been, and the impressive results the squad has achieved.
Some of these results include.
• 1st Harken Youth International Match Racing Championships( First ever all female team to win the event)
• 3rd Musto Youth International Match Racing Championships
• 9th Women’ s World Match Racing Championships
• 1st Marinassess Womens Match Racing Open Championships
• 1st CYCA, RSYS and RPAYC Interclub Regatta
• 1st New Caledonia Youth Match Racing Championships
Commodore Ian Audsley addressed the squad, and was quick to praise the squad for all their hard work and

dedication to the program, with all those early starts and long nights in the gym paying off!
Parents, partners and squad members enjoyed a wonderful meal, with the food and beverage department hitting another home run, with enough food to sink a ship! Much to the delight of the boys in the squad.
We would like to take this opportunity to again thank the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, its members and the boat sponsors of the Elliott 7s. I would also like to thank Katie Pellew and Jordan Reece, who both through their coaching attributed to these great results, and Tana Anderson and Dan Cook, for all those punishing Friday Night Gym sessions!
