The Wrap QBL Round 12 14th July 2019 | Page 3

welcome to caps nation Welcome to Auchenflower for QBL19 round 12 - Well, well, well great to see the Capitals women breakthrough for a win against Phoenix in round 11 they have been in and around it for the last two to three games and the men continue to roll along. Make no mistake this weekend will be a real test for our undermanned men’s team meeting Townsville who are back to back men’s champions. This game should prove to a great struggle between two quality teams and well worth the modest admission fee. There are some great players on the court for both the men and women’s teams and you are never going to be as close to them as you are here at Auchenflower so bring along the family for a great afternoon out..!! - ICYMI our Junior Capital teams for U12 and U14 have recently attended their State Championships, - U12 Girls at Auchenflower competed and finished outside of the placings. - U14 Girls at Mackay at the time of printing results were not available. - U12 Boys at Ipswich 10th in Division 1and 5th in Division 3. - U14 Boys at Townsville – the group performed very well overall with 5th in Division 1 and - State Champions (D2) 12th overall in the state - Division 3 boys 9th. Auchenflower hosted the U12 Girls State Championships last week and what a wonderful tournament it was, thanks to our volunteers and my team for a smoothly run event. I have to add that some of the players were outstanding in terms of their athleticism, skill and game sense so the game is well and truly on the rise. In closing we only one more home game after this one in the regular season so if you have not seen a game this season then pencil it in and then we will see where we land for finals. Thanks for your support – Go Caps!! Trevor Lidstone General Manager Brisbane Basketball Co 3
