Overall the canyon covers more
than 1.2 million acres in the
Colorado Plateau in Arizona. It’s
been studied as a fascinating
geologic landscape that shows
eras of history in layers of rock,
fossils and caves.
There are numerous tours
that will take you through the
canyon. Sure, there’s the option
of taking a mule trip and staying
overnight, but why not go for
something more luxurious and
take a helicopter tour?
The majesty of this World
Heritage Site is something you
have to see to believe, and an
aerial view is definitely a unique
way to witness the spectacle
and see it up close.
A great way to get your kids
interested in nature and history
is to have them learn about the
place as they are seeing it.
Most tours start at the Las
Vegas Airport, where the
helicopter will take you over
the West Rim, over Lake Las
Vegas and Lake Mead, as well
as the Hoover Dam.
Sunset and sunrise here are

canyon. The sun drenches the
billion-year-old layers of rock,
