Do you know anything about art? If you think that the art is boring, let me give you a little tour of one of the most interesting chapters of art history, the art in Greece. Greece is a magical country with an amazing history and beautiful traditions, but first you need to know something more of Greece. Greece is a European country located to the south of the Balkan Peninsula in the Mediterranean Sea coast; the capital of Greece is Athens. Greece has borders to the north with Albania, the Republic of Macedonia and Bulgaria, to the east with Turkey and the Aegean Sea, to the west with the Ionian Sea, and to the south with the Mediterranean Sea. Greece has a Mediterranean climate with featuring mild and wet winters and hot, dry summers. In the history of the humanity Greece has an important space, because for many centuries has been considered the center of art and culture in Europe, but more amazing is that Greece is the cradle of Western civilization and the birthplace of democracy, western philosophy, Olympic Games, western literature and political science. For these reasons and other more, Greece is a place you must visit before you die.

The art in Greece is amazing because it is mixed with fantastic stories and mythology; but, what is art? Well…The art is one of the most important expressions of humanity; through the art, the different cultures have evolved and preserved their knowledge; but the art is not just an aesthetic issue, through the art the humanity has been able to express their ideals, and has transformed the world around him. The art is not just a drawing on paper; the art covers major themes such as architecture, literature, poetry, dramaturgy and sculpture. For this reasons try to define art in one word is complicated, because the art encompasses many things, but in my personal opinion “the art is a religion without god”. In Greece the artist was an important person, the artists had schools where they teach their techniques; in these temples of learning, were born the greatest masters of art. For the Greeks the city was a work of art, the temples and all buildings were strategically located and its decoration was carefully crafted. The Acropolis was the top of the city, in this place were located the temples and the treasures of the gods who protected the city. The Agora was the city's main square and had two functions, one political and one economic.
