Age of students: 10-12
Aims/Objectives: Students will learn all kinds of mushrooms, recognize
and distinguish edible from poisonous ones. They will get to know the role
of mushrooms in nature in the recycling procedure, visit the places where
mushrooms exist and learn about their nutritional value.
Description: Students will find information about all kinds of mushrooms
and then they will talk with experts for the mushroom world. They will
visit places around their area and write down the different species they
will find. They will take pictures of them and then they will learn more
about them from the internet, encyclopaedias, experts and local
communities. Students will recognize and learn to distinguish edible
mushrooms from poisonous ones. They will find out the role of mushrooms
in nature and their recycling capacity. They will also learn about the
nutritional value of mushrooms and how important they are for the
human. They will write recipes and cook them in the classroom. They will
make paintings and crafts based on the mushrooms with the help of
experts Students will also share all this with all the partner schools and
will make together interactive and international "profile" of the
mushroom.
